night proposed to day
‘i’ll take twelve hours
and you take twelve hours’
day had to accept it
for there was no alternative
or night will take twenty four
hours of fear of dream-thoughts
fastening us to deep darkness forever
but night cannot be trusted
it wanted the stars, moon and
all citylights
leaving only
the sun and one stray star
astray in early daylight
while day laughs at the wet sun
that is why I fear the night
always bringing dream-thoughts
making one hungry in the chest
the next morning,
a bad prelude to a working day
with only one forty minute break
**You are welcome to be 'day' and give a rebuttal.

day reiterated against night
"no! i'll take thirteen hours
and you take eleven"
night could not debate
for there was no choice
and day would have taken twenty four
hours of blaze
of hell
fastening us to be sunburnt forever
but day was smart
it did not want the stars, moon nor the citylights
it wanted the sun
the sun, giving out glory and
vitamin D to everyone
day knew
that with the stars, came drunkenness
with the moon, came werewolves
with the city lights, came thieves and bandits
all this and
night cries itself to sleep
that is why i feel sorry for night
always bringing dreams,
money from lost teeth,
fun nights in parties
to men
but with this
came rogues
came gangs
came crimes
and night became damned forever
day felt anger
anger that was white-hot, burning
burning like the sun
and the sun burned
brighter
releasing day's rage
night could not come, day's anger
was too strong.
day was cunning
day trapped night, tricking it
carefully extracting a little more, just a little
time for day before
it merged into night
night was weak
trapped by day's passion of anger
day laughed, victorious
night is not as strong now,
i am victorious, powerful
leading others out of darkness into
light
Twelve hours of day,
Twelve hours of night,
Half of twenty four hours, splitted equally.
Seems fair, seems good, seems equal.
but, is it so?
Because of night, people complain of day.
Because of night, they despise day.
"Why do you want me gone?"
I asked once,
to my old friend, since the Earth was formed.
But, you just snigger
and laugh at me for my what seemed to be a stupid question.
"What are you talking about? I have no intention of that."
But, you don't know,
your eyes shone with disgust.
I light up the sky.
I let the people see the world.
I let them feel warmth.
So they can deal with the chill.
Bear in mind, night.
Because of day, people learnt of hardship,
So they appreciate pleasure.
If I'm gone,
do you still think,
you will have,
what you have now?
City lights, stars, moon,
You want it?
I give it all to you.
But give it a thought,
you are not to determine
my appearance.
Can explain what message is the poem trying to deliver? Having exam next week zzz
